"Don't say gay" passes in Tennessee senate
Tennessee’s now infamous “don’t say gay” bill passed in the state’s senate yesterday with a 20-10 vote.
The bill is slightly different now, after an amendment specified that only lessons related to homosexuality, rather than all discussions with any gay themes, were banned. Note: Tennessee already bans sexual education in elementary school.
A companion bill is still in the house of representatives and probably will be for a while.
