Fight for NY gay marriage gets help from Republicans
New York’s campaign to legalize same-sex marriage has gotten some help from unlikely sources.
A “small but influential” group of Republican businessmen donated big to the advocacy group New Yorkers United for Marriage. One of the men, Paul Singer, is a big-time Republican who considers himself connected to the issue of LGBT rights because he has a married gay son.
This is some pretty great news, friends. If a bunch of bigshot Republicans can see why marriage equality is so important, surely everyone else can too.
