If at first you don’t succeed…

A gay couple in Dallas who were arrested last month for criminal trespass after applying for a marriage license have, well, done all those things again. 

Beau Chandler and Mark “Major” Jiminez had their first court appearance August 2 after they were arrested for refusing to leave a city building when they were denied a marriage license on July 5. After their court appearance, they went back to the court building to ask for a marriage license again. When they were denied, they began a sit-in and were arrested again for trespassing.

Jiminez told reporters, “How is our marriage going to affect your life? When you’re sitting down to the dinner table, how is the fact that we’re married going to affect your life, at all? It’s not! So why are you worried about it?”

I want to befriend these fellows. After all, a little peaceful protest can’t hurt.
